Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, is edited by hundreds of thousands of people, and backed by reliable sources. We set out to communicate this in the lead up to the 2024 United States elections. By showcasing how articles are built over time, from 2024 US Elections, to Democracy, we demonstrated that, together, we create and keep knowledge accurate.

Prominent Wikimedians (volunteers who edit Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects) joined in person, to share the making behind articles they personally contributed to.

On social, banners showcased real edits behind contextual Wikipedia articles.

Running from October 15 to October 31, 2024, the “Knowledge is Human” campaign was viewed approximately 15 million times, reaching an estimated 7.8 million people.
